School Trips, Workshops and Visitors
Intent
Our curriculum gives children opportunities to develop enquiring minds and a lifelong love of learning. We believe in celebrating every success and preparing our children for the future. We pride ourselves in giving our children a range of experiences to bring their learning to life, from hands-on workshops, performances and trips to our three residentials a year including our Y6 trip to Paris, where we see our children develop and become ready for the next step in their learning journey.
To offer children the opportunity to experience learning in different ways and enrich our curriculum. We organise termly enrichment opportunities which involve workshops, internal or external visitors or residential trips. These learning experiences link to the curriculum and enhance the learning which is then revisited when back in the classroom.
Residential trips for Year 4-6 are planned in order to teach children social skills, problem solving opportunities, team building as well as developing life experiences such as staying away from home and developing their resilience across the activities planned. We feel these trips give our children autonomy and allow them to set themselves goals and challenges which are appropriate to them.
