6️⃣ Year 6 loved their visit to the Imperial War Museum to enhance their History learning about WW2. They worked in groups to spot artefacts throughout the gallery and had to consider their purpose and impact. The children particularly enjoyed seeing a full-sized Anderson and Morrison shelter as well!

3️⃣ Year 3 have had an amazing day taking part in their Stone Age Day. They enjoyed getting dressed up and learning about the different eras during the Stone Age (Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic) as well as learning about the Iron and Bronze Age too. They took part in a workshop during the morning, focussing on the Stone Age and testing out being hunter-gatherers themselves. They then continued learning in class, creating presentations about a specific era of time before presenting these to their classes.

💫 One small donation can make a big impact! 💫 🌾 Last week, we had a very special day at Cuddington Croft. Our Year 6 House Leaders helped to organise Lumley’s charity day to raise awareness and donations for @suttoncommunityproject and we are very proud of the whole school’s involvement. As well as donating a huge amount of food which will be used in food boxes for those who need them, we wrote poems, messages of kindness and thank you cards to the volunteers. We are very grateful to the representatives from SCP who came to speak to the children about the charity and the impact of their donations. Thank you to our CC community for supporting this fantastic cause and we know how much of a difference your donations will make!

🗓️ Throughout October, children at Cuddington learnt about significant figures in history to mark Black History Month. Each year group then focused on one individual, exploring their impact on the world and how they overcame adversity. Watch the video to find out who we learnt about!

1️⃣ In Year 1, as part of our Gruffalo learning journey, the children created their very own terrible tusks using a range of fruits! 🍎🍌 This fun, hands-on activity helped the children explore the features of the Gruffalo and gave them real-life experience to support their instruction writing. We had a lot of fun creating our terrible tusks and we produced some excellent writing as a result.

📚✨ Our brand-new Reading Nook has officially opened on the playground! Inspired by feedback from our School Council, it offers a calm, cosy space where children can relax and enjoy a good book during lunchtime. A huge thank you to Mr Craughwell for skilfully creating the nook from recycled materials and to our PTA for buying the pillows and beanbags that make it even cosier. It opened today and it’s already a huge hit with the children!

🍞 Reception have been learning all about harvest this week. We have been reading and sequencing the story of ‘The Little Red Hen’ and have learnt where flour comes from. We had a go at making our own bread rolls! It got quite sticky but we enjoyed kneading the dough and rolling it into small balls.

🍏 Nursery have been exploring fruit and vegetables. We loved touching and smelling the different foods. We then created our own Green Grocer’s with real fruit and vegetables to practise buying different foods we would want to try at home.
