2️⃣ Year 2 have completed their houses inspired by those in 1666! We started by measuring and cutting all the pieces of wood required to build a frame. We measured and cut card and cardboard to create a roof. Finally, we added details to make our houses look more realistic - wooden beams, roof tiles, windows and doors. #creative #cooperative

6️⃣🪡 This half term, to support our STEAM curriculum, parents have volunteered to speak to the children about their careers or share their expertise. As part of this, Year 6 were so lucky to have Mrs Golding come into school today to run a craft workshop to make a Christmas decoration! The children were very proud of their Danish stars which required concentration and a growth mindset. Thank you so much Mrs Golding for sharing your expertise and potentially inspiring some future designers!

3️⃣ Year 3 had great fun building their prehistoric structure! We weaved willow sticks to create a sturdy wattle wall and mixed clay, water and hay together to form our sticky daub insulation. We enjoyed getting our hands (and clothes!) dirty to create our Iron Age roundhouse.

⭐️ Phase 1 blew us away with their nativity, Lights Camel Action, last week! Year 3’s acting, singing and dancing was fantastic and Year 1 and 2’s singing supported beautifully. Well done!

1️⃣ Year 1 had an excellent time at their ‘Wild Rumpus’ which we were invited to by The Wild Things! We had to use our question sentences in a letter to find out when and where it was going to take place. Thank you Mrs Samyani for bringing down all the special delivery letters to Year 1!

2️⃣ Year 2 used Duplo to explore different contractions that are made by squeezing two words together. They looked carefully at which letters were squeezed out of the word and then replaced them with an apostrophe. This week, we will use these in our informal letter to Aunt Lucy from Paddington.
